Catholics respect the sacredness of human life from conception through to natural death. The taking of human life to make our own better is a sad blotch on our society. The elderly, the sick, the handicapped and the unborn child are easy and very often, helpless targets of the death culture, the selfish culture. Catholics are duty bound to defend the weak and the helpless. The unborn child is especially vulnerable. The unborn child has committed no crime and has no voice to ask for mercy. We must be her voice and defender. Abortion is our greatest social injustice. |

| What greater hypocrisy is there then to oppose the death penalty for criminals while at the same time supporting the killing of innocent, helpless unborn children? A local abortion supporter and abortion escort at the abortuary at 2nd and Market is working with the Archdiocese of Louisville and Fr. Patrick Delahanty to end the death penalty and may speak at local churches on abolishing the death penalty. What about the innocent unborn who are slaughtered everyday? A May 23, 2007 Courier Journal article about the Archdiocese of Louisville and the abortion escort, Doug Stern working together has mysteriously disappeared after outcry over the hypocrisy Missing CJ Article. Of course the death penalty should be abolished in favor of less cruel, yet just punishment. However, to protect criminals while victimizing the innocent, helpless and guiltless is hypocritical and inconsistent.
